Price Increase letter from Kedi healthcare management: It has been a pleasure to serve and partner with you all these years, and we look forward to a continued and more rewarding partnership.
As you may well know, the naira has fallen substantially against the dollars. Since our product raw materials are imported from China, we have suffered a significant increase in our operational cost. Our efforts to maintain the rate and provide quality products and services have eroded us.
For the last five years, Kedi healthcare have maintained the same rate for our products in spite of the rising cost of raw materials and operational cost. As much as we would like to maintain our rates, we find that we must increase to provide quality services to you our valued partners.
We have continuously incurred losses over the past years owing to the depreciating value of the naira. Our company has maintained an exchange rate of N150 to the dollar for our products. In purchasing the raw materials from China, we exchanged the naira to the dollars about the rate of N170 thereby losing about 20% plus additional loss we incur in converting the dollar to the Chinese Yuan which sums our aggregate loses to 29% including labour cost and so on.
However, this price increase isn’t for purposes of gouging customers or skimming bigger profits – it’s a matter of survival. Our first aim is to please our distributors and customers. Indeed, however, we will not be able to serve you if our business incurs losses. Unfortunately, we are left with no rational alternative but to increase our exchange rate. We are confident, nonetheless, that you will find the quality of our products even in the light of these new prices to be quite reasonable and competitive. Effective July 1st, 2014, we will enact a rate increase of US$1 to N165.
We hope to continue our excellent relationship with you, and assure you that the rate increase will reflect a similar increase in Bonus and AWARDS.
