Personal Life Coach: Coaching is defined as the process of teaching and developing a person’s ability to become more resourceful and productive, while mentorship is the act of helping a person to achieve growth and improvement in the different aspects of life.
The two share a lot of similarities in the sense that they are both positive efforts taken by one person for another with the aim of making that person better; be it in sports, business or in a chosen career.
Coaching and mentoring skills are vital to the progress and positive results that are required in an individual or organization. A quick look at sports teams for example, shows that every one of them has a personal life coach that develops techniques, train players, selects a team and bears responsibility of the overall team performance.
Also, studying the lives of great men, leaders and influential people, shows that there is always a mentor who helped in providing the needed guidance, setting the path for them to follow.
Continuing with our analogy, we see that there is always a crisis whenever a team is without a coach, they perform below expectations as they seem to lose that sense of direction, and urgent steps are taken to find a coach for the team.
Also, you can hardly find a great person who made it to the top without the help and guidance of a personal life coach.
That is how it is with business, great results and overall improvement are achieved through proper coaching and mentorship, there is always that dissatisfaction stemming from undesirable results wherever this is absent; which is why an individual or an organization that seeks to attain success must have this in place.
Although the coach and the mentor may be the same person, in most cases, there are two different people as their roles have some differences.
The coach is specifically focusing on producing an improved performance, while the mentor is particularly focused on development.
As the coach trains on the techniques and skills, he constantly adapts them to maintain good results in different situations. In the case of the mentor, he provide mentorship training to see that changes are made in either character traits or other aspects of life that will bring a more developed person.
But still, an essential quality links them together, which is experience. And as experience is most likely due to age, coaches and mentors are usually older people, but age itself is not necessarily a determinant factor, as many excellent young coaches and mentors.
The coach and the mentor must possess some level of experience in the relevant areas in which improvement is required, in this way, the coach or mentor will be capable of imparting the needed skills and motivational factor to help in achieving a goal.
If you are struggling and in need of improved results as an individual or in your organization, then get personal life coach to help turn things around for the better.
