The responsibility of the government is to provide the facilities and enabling environment for businesses to strive. Examples of such facilities include regular flow of electricity at affordable cost, good transportation systems, communications, etc.
In the developed society, it has been observed that small business owners are the bedrock that sustains their economy. For instance, with the advent of the internet, many Americans have used the internet to build their home businesses and have become their means of livelihood.
As an unemployed or under-employed Nigerian, you can eliminate unemployment in Nigeria by starting an internet business that will gradually become your source of income. But it will require some efforts and resources, but it’s one of the best options with the present economy recession.
If you are interested, you need to learn to build a business based on what you know and what you love doing. The first step is to do research to identify the problems bothering people in your niche and if they will pay for your solutions. The outcome of the research will determine the success and failure of your proposed business.

Then create an e-book that proffer a step by step solution that will help readers to overcome the problems. It’s easier and cheaper to create an e-book compare to publishing your book and selling in bookstores. It’s also affordable to your targeted readers than if they had bought it in bookshops.
Sell advertising on your website: You can also overcome unemployment in Nigeria by selling advertising on your website. The strategy is to work hard to attract visitors from a specific industry to your website. That will convince potential advertisers that they will get returns on their investment if they advertise on your website. The level of traffic you are attracting to your website will determine the amount you can charge for ad placements.
Become a writer or copywriter for others: For people that can write and enjoy doing it, rendering services as writers on the internet is one sure way to reduce unemployment in Nigeria.
