- Body creams: Toxic body creams and lotions have become a leading cause of allergic contact dermatitis. It is primarily due to hydroquinone in these products that bleach the skin, causing redness, itching and wounds.
- Sunlight: The sun's ultraviolet rays can cause allergic contact dermatitis, especially when it reacts with certain chemicals found in the body lotions of people. Certain skin tones also react differently under UV rays, such as light skin people and albinos who lack sufficient melanin in their skin.
