Regarding the causes of hypertension, also referred to as high blood pressure, 80 to 90 per cent of patients have no direct reason. In this case, it is called primary hypertension.

• Excessive salt consumption

Obesity: With the patient's obesity, the health risk increases. Thus, type 2 diabetes could develop in the foreseeable future. The cardiovascular system does not bode well. The body then needs more insulin. It ultimately increases blood pressure.

Stress: The autonomic nervous system, particularly the "sympathetic," controls many vital functions, especially blood pressure and circulation. The sympathetic nervous system facilitates rapid performance and is directly involved in the stress response. Unresolved stress also often leads to a lack of sleep. They also affect blood pressure adversely.

Pressure measurement is an almost optimal, simple, and reliable way to always keep blood pressure in check, even if everything is normal. Elevated levels can be better managed rather than a crisis.
