Herbal Remedies for Arteriosclerosis

This article explains herbal remedies for arteriosclerosis, its symptoms and its causes. Our blood circulation system is mainly composed of the heart and a complex network of arteries, veins, and the much smaller venules, arterioles, and capillaries. They are all connected in a system that enables blood, along with oxygen, nutrients and other products of metabolism, to be transported to the body's different organs.

Any blockage to blood circulation can seriously affect health, and arteriosclerosis is one of the most likely causes of this problem.

What is arteriosclerosis?

Arteriosclerosis is a condition where the blood vessels become very stiff and thick, reducing and sometimes totally restricting the normal flow of blood through the vessel. It is a specific type of condition involving the build-up of cholesterol and fats in the walls of the arteries, resulting in internal blood clots that can trigger heart attacks and strokes.
This condition is usually common in arteries that are connected to the heart. It is also possible for arteriosclerosis to occur in arteries found in any other body part.

Symptoms of arteriosclerosis

At the onset of arteriosclerosis, there might be no noticeable symptoms until the condition worsens to the extent of substantially restricting or blocking blood flow. Symptoms will generally include pain in the affected area, angina (check pains and pressure), numb arms and legs, slurred speech, drooping face muscles, loss of vision, high blood pressure and kidney failure.

Causes of arteriosclerosis

The exact cause of arteriosclerosis is not known, but some factors that increase the risk of the condition include:

  • High blood cholesterol: When the level of bad cholesterol increases, there is an increased risk of it being carried into the bloodstream and deposited along the arteries.
  • Diabetes: This metabolic condition creates an imbalance in glucose levels, which can result in the blood's gradual build-up of glucose and triglycerides (fats).
  • Inflammations: Sometimes, the arteries can become inflamed, maybe due to diseases like arthritis, which can cause infections that ultimately result in arteriosclerosis.
  • Lack of exercise: Having a sedentary lifestyle can also result in the build-up of fat and bad cholesterol, which are precursors for developing arteriosclerosis.
  • Genetic factors: A family history of coronary diseases also increases the risk of developing arteriosclerosis. Although scientists have not understood the process, some genes are suspected of making people susceptible to the condition.

The herbal remedies for arteriosclerosis

We will look at some herbal remedies for arteriosclerosis that can effectively clear up arteries and treat the condition.

  • Artichoke leaf extract (ALE): This natural herb has been found to have sound effects in reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or bad cholesterol in the body. It helps to lower incidences of blocked arteries.
  • Garlic: It is Known for its healing properties. Studies have also found that regular consumption of garlic is good for maintaining a healthy heart and clean blood vessels.
  • Hawthorn: This shrub is grown primarily for its medicinal properties. Hawthorn extracts are marketed in Europe as heart disease medicine, and it has been scientifically proven to contain quercetin. This chemical reduces harmful cholesterol levels.
  • Cordy Royal Jelly: The herbal remedies for arteriosclerosis medicine is formulated from 100% natural Chinese herbs, including ginkgo leaf extracts, cordyceps Sinensis and royal jelly freezing powder that treats cardiovascular diseases, improves blood circulation, removes bad cholesterol and reduces inflammations.
