I Want to Be Rich

I want to be rich! You wish you have enough to foot your basic bills, more to live a steady and comfortable lifestyle, more to make your own decisions and be a master of your own time, not reporting at someone’s desk or tied to a cubicle from 8 to 5, more to live on when you are old or tired of working or even more to give to charity and better the life of others.

All these are quite achievable if only certain inhibitions are broken, some misconceptions are corrected and your general outlook is re-positioned then your chances of getting rich can increase. I will simply summarize the answer to getting rich in two words… ‘Sell something!’

I want to be rich: Solution

I can bet your wordless reaction now is, “is that it? Sell something? Sure that is it. This is not about pawning your possessions to get quick money but making a business out of selling things that are essential to other people.

Agreed there are people who made their millions by saving but research shows they made their money slower than those who actually met the needs of others by selling what the customers need. Also, list and arrange the billionaires around you according to how they arrived and what they are worth, those who occupy the top of the spectrum actually sold one thing or the other. Nothing can be ruled out when it involves money.

Anything can earn you the wealth you want. You could sell your products be its daily needs, or other needs: recyclable materials, pastries, creams, toiletries, drugs, gadgets, books, jewelry, furniture, cars, name it if you want to be rich. 

I want to be rich! You could sell your expertise in any type of field: writing skills, financial expertise, health consultation, motivation and training, entertainment, culinary and events, advertising and marketing services, sports skills, ideas, the list is endless. 

The examples in this list all seem serious and conventional. Do not forget that some have made their money even through unconventional products - some sold meat in parking lots, selling junks from garbage cans, building ducks, selling pet rocks, microwaveable pillows, etc.

They sound ridiculous right. If that earned them money then the beautiful idea in you can earn you yours. The fact is somebody somewhere will always need one thing you have to offer.

I want to be rich! Simply look around you to see what people need and will love to buy repeatedly, and then you are made. If health is a fad in your environment, consider health products. If fashion is the fad, consider fashion products. If a considerable percentage takes education seriously, then consider educational products and services.

You should, however, realize that there is more to selling than loading off products and services and those who get rich via selling do not get rich by chance. So, if your aim is to really make money, realize financial benefits only come after dedicating your efforts to your business.

I want to be rich! You have to treat your business like you are serious about it. Being serious with your business, however, springs from one fact, which is to understanding and believing in the product you sell and the service you render.

Selling what you do not believe in will take you nowhere. Another important attitude is to focus more on investing than spending. It is very common to see startups entrepreneurs buy expensive wear, eat and live their profits.

On making reasonable profits, they jet away to have their desired holiday, buy their dream cars, build their dream houses and so on. That simply translates to lacking the billionaire trait. Your profit from the start should not go into luxury cars or other things that satisfy just you. Your profit should be sent back to make more money thus investment is important if you want to be rich.

I want to be rich! Investment in this sense could be getting more training that could help your business, simply expanding your business or creating other income flows. It doesn’t matter if it is the same business but it is wiser to create multiple flows of income with your profit. Diversify so that if one stream experiences a downside, there is always something to fall back on.

Let’s dwell on what seems to look minor but could actually make a big difference in your quest to be rich. You can always tell those who have the potential to be rich from those who don’t by the way they reason and talk.

Some see successful people and call them ritualists, greedy or con artists. Fact! Those set of people can never be rich. Another category takes lessons about getting wealthy from those who are pinching pennies or just scraping by. Fact! Those in this category are also unlikely to become rich.

I want to be rich! This is where mentoring comes to play. You need to know what those who are successful in your chosen field do to succeed and follow their examples. This is very important to your success. You have a thousand and one things to learn in the process of making money or becoming successful generally, therefore the lessons from successful people can come in handy.

Such lessons could be from their triumphs or their mistakes. The reality is that not all of them will believe in you or have time for you but some of them will. Sponge as much as you can from them as you grow.

Lastly, set your business for the global stage as it grows. You would not want to remain local forever. Moreover, the more the tentacles of your business, the more money you rake in.
