It would be best if you imbibed the principles of honesty and trustworthiness in your daily dealings with people that patronize your products and services.

The truth is they are shooting themselves on the legs. Any entrepreneur who continues to cheat their customers cannot sustain the business for long.

According to the famous adage, “If you lose your business, you can get it back. If you lose your Integrity, you have lost everything.”

You can only cheat people once. Sooner or later, people will get to know you as a fraudster, not what you claim to be.

They will bad mouth you to their friends and families. Before you realize it, people will start avoiding your business.

Suppose you are running a small scale business in Nigeria. In that case, my admonition is for you to be honest for your business to keep growing. Yes, Integrity can take your business to the top in your industry.

A good name is better than silver and gold. Like every good thing in life, it will take time and effort.

But in the long run, you will succeed. When satisfied clients find out that your business is of sound Integrity, they will see you as a friend they can trust.

They will reward you with a repeat purchase and be happy to refer their friends and family to you. With repeat patronage and word-of-mouth recommendations, you will spend little or nothing advertising your business.

Your small scale business in Nigeria will survive whether the economy is good or bad. Your sincerity and Integrity will sustain your business when others are losing customers.

No wonder, Jim Rohn advised, “Integrity is the most valuable and respected leadership quality. Always keep your word.”

On the other hand, if you are a business person who does not pay attention to honesty or sincerity, you are gradually destroying your business.

The business is living on borrowed time. It’s just a matter of time before you lose everything. There is no better way to say it than this statement from Robert Fritz, “Any relationship built on manipulation will fail.”

Therefore, you should build a culture of genuineness around what you offer, keep your words, and over-deliver what you promise in your business promotion.
